A Community of Grace Seekers

This is a place for us to look for and share the grace we notice in our everyday lives. It is a place for stories, encouragement, prayer, and hope.

I am Renae Rickles Perry. I am brave. I am a learner and reader. I am a Counselor and an encourager. I am a creative, and I am a hope*writer. I am stronger than I sometimes believe. I have been through hard things and I have survived. I have a passion for seeking out and telling the story of God’s goodness in the midst of joy and pain and everyday, ordinary things.

I am a pastor in the United Methodist Church, serving at Cahaba United Methodist Church. I am a Spiritual Director and a graduate of Metagem Institute’s Spiritual Director Certification Program, where I now serve as Faculty and in Communications and Administration. I have degrees in Child Development & Human Development from the University of Alabama and a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary.

I am a widow and single mom to 2 amazing humans, Caleb (21) and Cole (16). And we three are owned by a furry, salt and pepper 4 year old Miniature Schnauzer named Castiel.

I love books and learning, rainy days and cool weather. I love forests and mountains and traveling to new places. I love a hot, strong cup of coffee and good dark chocolate. I love Mexican food and margaritas. I am a nerd, a musician, a sore loser, and a lover of words.

Welcome to a community of grace seekers!

“I now see how owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.”
