My Sacred Story
My own journey to spiritual direction began as a Baptist preacher’s granddaughter where I was in church every time the doors were open. As I grew, I sensed a calling to serve in Christian ministry. I followed an educational path as I earned a BS in Human Development from the University of Alabama and an MA in Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. Most recently my passions led me to gain my Spiritual Direction certification with Metagem Institute. Everything has led me to a place of discovering my own authentic spiritual identity, and a desire to walk alongside others. In particular, as a United Methodist clergy spouse for 20 years, I developed a unique desire to serve and support clergy spouses. As a widow, I am especially attuned to issues of grief and loss. And as a parent of an LGBTQ young person, I also care deeply for issues surrounding families and young people who are navigating this journey. These are some of my particular places of expertise, but I am ready to meet you where you are. As your spiritual director, it is my honor to companion you in your own sacred story.
